The AFRICAN LEGION provides protection for the UNIA-ACL and the Black community against racist and unjust physical aggression. In the 1920’s, Marcus Garvey created the Universal African Legion. The sole purpose of the military unit was to prepare young black men for the redemption of Africa and for the protection of the UNIA members across the world. It instilled discipline and respect to young black men all over the globe. The Legion was an uniformed army with a military chain of command and stratification.

THE Sphinx is the symbol of the African Legion
